The wriggler is exterminated only by rain water

INTRODUCTION

 

There are two harmful conditions that is caused by mosquitoes. It can cause "Itchiness" and "Infectious diseases".

It is a suffering of human being, animals and every warm blooded animals from all over the world from a simple bite of mosquito

which is "itch" and would probably lead to a serious "infectious disease".

Aedes Albopictus (Asian tiger mosquito) in Japan and Aedes Aegypti in foreign countries are known mosquitoes to be of dangerous species.

 

In recent years, climate change and continuous change in our ecosystem caused by global warming like increase of Carbon Dioxide (CO2)

and greenhouse effect and rise in temperature and seawater temperature.

From North Area, the expansion of the living region of mosquitoes mediates tropical infectious diseases

which are feared by most of people like Dengue Fever, Chikunguny Fever, Zika Fever.

We rely too much on chemical spray, which very hazardous to our health and to our ecosystem.

 

Through Katorin ( CONTAINER FOR CAPTURING MOSQUITO LARVAE ) many individuals hoped that Japan will be free from

these different diseases for it has the ability to intervene and prevent these problems.

Katorin is designed to capture and eliminate the wrigglers by the use of natural water such as rain and tap water.

It became an original commercial products by people's cooperation.

It is highly appreciated if it will be of useful so as to prevent various harmful effects caused by mosquitoes.

The chemical constituent which is a neurological toxin in nature called pyrethroid can caused headache,

nausea etc, when using by it volume.

Moreover, it could destroy harmless insects like spider and dragonfly,

however it can cause mosquito's proliferation in different areas.

The mosquito's tolerance ability was discovered in 1996.

                   and exterminating the descendants.

Capture and extermination can be observed

outside of the container.

Growth acts rashly further though it will usually become an imago from the egg in about 2 weeks,

if conditions such as the water temperature and bait is completed.

When imago that was emerged with the water level in the container decreases, it might not move to the

corpse tank but stay in the growth tank for several days.

If the water level decreases by evaporation occurs, the float valve will descend, and the passage to the

entrance will be closed automatically, and the imago's cannot run away. 【received patent】

 

Features

It doesn't take time because it is an automatic using rain water supply.

It is possible to use the whole round year and the every year because it is not disposable.

It doesn't take exchange time because there is no consumption materials.

There is no sense of incompatibility even if it will be put inside or outside of our home

because the Katorin adopts mosquito's environment laying cycle.

Putting only water in the container, it is no discharge Carbon dioxide that is one of causes of Global warming.

The location is not limited because there is no power supply used.

It is secured and it is not necessary to maintain it.

Many lives including our ecosystem is safe because of no-chemical environment friendly and

avoid the development of an insect that can be immune to chemicals.

Weekly confirmed number of wrigglers using the prototype set-up eight places in our home (Niigata Prefecture)
during the summer in 2006,
captured results were about 4,700 between June-September [4 months.] (588 average in a container)

To concentrate the egg laying on the container, a peripheral puddle is removed.

(empty can, toys, etc and anything that holds stagnant water.)

Natural water (rain water, pond water) is preferable for successful effect.

(Do not use tap water containing chlorine.)

As for the location, the possibility invite mosquitoes, and where plants bushes are abundant,

and where wind and direct sunlight does not strike is preferable, and within 30cm above the ground.

The dripping of the leaf is dropped to 'lid' in the central portion on the day of rain when setting it up.

Set up the equipment when the season of mosquitoes begins laying cycle starts in about 2 weeks.

(Please change the location when you cannot confirm the wriggler even if 3 weeks pass.)

Capturing season (in case of Japan) is July and August especially when rainy days season comes to an end.

(Because the puddle in the outdoors is decreases, and the place that mosquito can be lay the eggs is limited.)

At the ends of season, clean the equipments by washing with water, and keep in house to avoid damage and

use it again for the next summer season.

(There is a possibility of damaging it in a cold region when remaining putting it for the period of winter.)

Do not use any bait like food (bread, sausage, etc) scraps to avoid stinky smell.

Always carry equipment from the bottom when it is filled water.

(Do not hold on the lid for this might fall and can cause damage.)

The equipment easily tumbles down by the wind or the animals or the human especially when water evaporates.

Tie it to something that will hold to avoid tumbling down.

The installation of two or more equipment is preferable for fast prevention of mosquito's multiplication.

Direct sunlight is not suitable for the egg laying and growth because the water temperature rises and

evaporation occurs.

Useful to keep records of location for purposes of correction and reference and maintenance.

Maintenance

Though rain water is supplied automatically at rain usually, so as not to run out of water in the container,

natural water is replenished according to the necessity.

Check once or twice a month to avoid blockage of the entrance passage, (Importance)

if the entrance passage is clogged with garbage, please remove garbage with plastic syringe.

Set up again the equipment after washing by water when the area is sprayed by chemicals.

Remove the spider around the equipment to keep the capturing function.

When mosquito does not lay eggs because rotten water with death of insects are present inside the equipment,

clean up again and change the water.

This equipment is made from an PP (polypropylene) materials. It is durable and resistant to weather impact.

However, quality will be deteriorated when used for a long time.

When the equipment was damaged, please abandon it.

The 1 ・・・ Observation of wriggler

The container is observed every week. (When the lid is opened, please note the mosquito of the container.)

When there is a wriggler, count it with the syringe and put it in a pet bottle for growth observation.
(Don't throw away the water of the container)

The observation of the growth process from wriggler to imago, the temperature by the number of generation
by the months since it was caught and the environments set up, water temperature etc. can be observe by
recording the captured mosquitoes.

In addition, it is also possible to forecast the change of habitat like global warming of the difference between
environment and the habitat according to mosquito's kind and the kind of diseases they can spread.
The 2 ・・・ Substitute of ovitrap

It is possible to use it as ovitrap (simple capture machine) used for the living investigation of the mosquito
and the wriggler.

Though the mosquito that became an imago from the wriggler runs away from general ovitrap if it doesn't
confirm container every week, in Katorin, it is difficult to run away from the container.
This container might be unsuitable to capture the imago in good shape, therefore it might be unsuitable to the
purpose to distinguish imago's kind. It is possible to use it as wriggler's capture purpose.
